CAM is an abbreviation for “central attacking midfielder.” This position is also sometimes referred to as the “playmaker.” The CAM is responsible for creating scoring chances and often functions as the team’s primary offensive creator. They typically have excellent vision and passing ability, and are often very good at dribbling and working their way into space.
